This blog aims to record some of the activities and findings of the Oswestry Cemetery Project. The Project is an eighteen month project that is run by Oswestry Town Council and supported by Heritage Lottery Fund. The Project relies on volunteers.

The aims of the Project are: 

• Conserve and catalogue the Cemetery archives
• Restore the first headstone
• Research the history of the Cemetery
• Research some of the people buried in the Cemetery
• Create a website that will host the Oswestry Cemetery collection catalogue and grave survey
• Map the Cemetery using GPS
• Produce new information leaflets and signage that will be available at the Cemetery and online

My name is Sara Downs, I am the Project Manager and will be writing the blog, hopefully with contributions from volunteers, over the coming months.
