In the first week of October, the gravestone from the first grave was returned to the Cemetery in all its glory. The images show the journey of restoration from how it was at the beginning of the Project, through a preliminary clean (undertaken to ascertain the extent of the work), to the final result. You will agree the end result is very surprising. It was impossible to envisage the final result with its complicated design as so much of it had sunk into the grass. What a wonderful 152nd commemorative gift for Sarah.
